drinkable skincare: our favorite complexion-booster recipes

Skin health starts from the inside out. No matter how diligently you wash your face or how frequently you turmeric-and-mask, we believe that what you put in your body will still have an effect.

That’s why we’re big fans of drinkable skincare - easy, try-this-at-home beverage recipes that help support happy skin. So, if you’re in the mood to upgrade your glow, boost your complexion, or just drink a delicious beverage with a side of health perks, we’ve got you covered. Now, get sippin’!

1) chlorophyll matcha latte

Try replacing your morning cup o’ joe with this plant-based beauty latte - you might be surprised by how energized you’ll feel. Along with providing your caffeine fix, matcha is a great source of antioxidants, which help protect against oxidative stress and support collagen synthesis.

We like to use our mask as the chlorophyll source in this recipe (yes, it’s edible!). Along with chlorella, our mask features nutrient-dense spirulina, antioxidant-rich wheatgrass, and ylang ylang, which has natural anti-inflammatory properties. Chlorella, which is the richest plant-based source of chlorophyll, is also packed with magnesium, which supports a healthy blood flow by delivering oxygen to your skin cells (additionally, magnesium can help reduce stress levels, alleviate constipation, and encourage relaxation!).

This chlorophyll and matcha cocktail makes a nutritious alternative to dehydrating coffee or sugary energy drinks. Throw in a little nut milk and ice, and get shaking (you’ll understand this in a second)!

what you’ll need

- 1 cup nut milk of choice

- 1-2 scoops chlorophyll mask

- 1 tsp matcha powder

- ice (as little or as much as you desire!)

- a jar with a lid

directions:

Add the matcha to the jar and mix it with a splash of water. Stir to form a paste. Add in 1-2 scoops of chlorophyll mask and stir to combine. Stir in your nut milk of choice, place the lid back on the jar, and shake until your latte is frothy. Enjoy!

2) rosewater lemonade

If a light, caffeine-free iced bevvie sounds more your speed, you might enjoy a refreshing rosewater lemonade. Rosewater, while amazing for your skin when used topically, also offers deeply hydrating and anti-inflammatory properties when ingested. Just make sure you’re using pure rosewater, like our rosewater toner, that doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals or inedible additives!

Freshly squeezed lemon juice in this recipe also offers a burst of antioxidant vitamin C. You can sweeten this one with agave or honey, if you like.

what you’ll need

-1 glass of water

-2 tbsp rosewater

-1/2 tsp honey or agave (optional)

-freshly squeezed juice from 1 lemon

-ice

directions

Stir water, rosewater, honey or agave, and lemon juice together to combine. Pour over ice and enjoy!

3) berry collagen smoothie

Maybe you’d prefer something fresh, fruity, and collagen-enhanced! As you may have heard, ingesting collagen helps support your skin’s elasticity, keeping it firm, supple, and youthful-looking. We love using Collagen Water from Vital Proteins, because it's both hydrating and artificial sweetener-free.

This recipe also calls for antioxidant (and delicious!) raspberries or blueberries, protein-rich almond butter, a splash of the nut milk of your choice, and cinnamon, which has both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

what you’ll need

-1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries or blueberries

-1-2 tbsp almond butter

-1 splash nut milk of choice

-pinch of cinnamon

-1/2 cup collagen water (or more, depending on your desired consistency!)

directions

Load all of the ingredients into a blender and blend away!
