Welcome back travelers! For today’s global skincare post, we’re taking a closer look at an ingredient very near and dear to our hearts… MATCHA.
Matcha: What is it?
Green tea. As fancy as “matcha” sounds, it actually just breaks down to “ma”, the Japanese word for powdered, and “cha”, which means tea! Therefore, matcha is… that’s right… powdered green tea.
Where and why?
Japanese monks brought back matcha from China during the Tang Dynasty, and soon tea ceremonies became an important piece of Japanese culture. Matcha became the focal point of the ceremony because it was known to stimulate the mind while also calming it simultaneously (now you see what all the buzz is about!).
Matcha has been ingested as an herbal medicine for ages, but does not get much recognition for it’s topical benefits!
And we really don’t know why. At cocokind, we’re obsessed with matcha. We love our Matcha Body Moisturizer and our Matcha Face Moisturizer for their high antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that keep the skin rejuvenated and skin tone even.
But we have a secret to share… matcha is also great for your HAIR! It can strengthen, repair, and stimulate new hair growth, while giving you a gorgeous shine. Need we say another word? Try this hair mask – now!
